A series of talks on ageing and end-of-life preparation, organised by the Social Concerns Committee with Methodist Women Committee of Wesley Penang.
1. Grey Scale and Introduction to the Finishing Well series
Ms Evelyn Teh’s award-winning short film, ‘Grey Scale’ and Introduction to the Finishing Well series by Rev. Ronald Yap
2. Graceful Ageing
Dr Low Jong Sern, consultant psychiatrist in Bagan Specialist Centre, talks on the psychosocial aspects of healthy ageing and resilience in older adults. Themes covered included common psychological and social issues of ageing and ways to prevent and overcome them in order to age healthily.
3. Graceful Dying
Dr Oo Loo Chan, founder and director of Charis Hospice, explores the meaning of life in the face of death. Themes covered included signs of dying and associated emotional distress; advanced care plans for the terminally ill; caregiver burden; and finding meaning through it all.
4. Passing On To Glory
Rev Ronald Yap shared on end-of-life preparation including practical preparation at different stages, prior to until post-death.
